About Us

Our Center was officially established in 2023 and has only recently commenced its active operations. The event we are holding today marks the first in-person scientific conference organized by our institution.

The primary aim of our Center is to support and develop studies related to the cultural and scientific heritage of the Turkic World through a multidimensional approach. In this context, the main areas of activity can be summarized as follows:

  • To examine the language, history, literature, archaeology, arts, and political, social, economic, and cultural structures of the Turkic World;
  • To support academic research and social projects in these fields;
  • To organize and participate in national and international conferences, congresses, and symposiums related to the Turkic World and to share the outcomes of such events with relevant audiences;
  • To initiate scientific and artistic projects that promote the shared values of the Turkic World.

Our Center is guided by the motto of Ismail Gasprinski: “Unity in language, thought, and action.” Moreover, the vision of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk regarding the cultural unity of the Turkic World is one of the core principles our institution embraces. Atatürk’s following words are among our key sources of inspiration:

“The Turks living outside of Turkey must first engage with cultural issues. We, too, have taken up the cause of Turkism in a constructive and positive manner. We place importance on the great Turkish history, the sources of the Turkish language, its rich dialects, and ancient Turkish works. We do not neglect even the language and culture of the Yakut Turks beyond Lake Baikal.”

In line with this perspective, our Center’s scope of work encompasses all tangible and intangible cultural elements of the Turkic World and its related communities, including language, history, literature, architecture, visual arts, traditional crafts, and music.

Furthermore, in the field of “Turcology,” our Center collaborates with relevant academic institutions both nationally and internationally. We aim to develop projects focused on the research, documentation, education, and promotion of Turkish history, culture, and civilization at both national and global levels.

Currently, our Center is conducting a TÜBİTAK 3005 project, under which three researchers—two postdoctoral fellows and one doctoral student—are employed. We also have new TÜBİTAK project applications in progress. In addition to these research activities, our annual calendar includes numerous conferences, panels, and cultural events.

In summary, the fundamental mission of our Center is to scientifically investigate the material and spiritual cultural values of the Turkic World, conduct high-quality academic work at both national and international levels, foster institutional collaborations, and produce lasting outcomes that contribute meaningfully to the Turkic World.
